With Ministries Quarterly Update
Flourish – Winter 2025
A Letter From Rebecca
Happy New Year!
We are praising God through His provision through friends like you who generously and enthusiastically partner with us. This month marks two years of With Ministries! We celebrate God’s vision for our work and the opportunity to spark a change in thinking and practices nationwide. With Ministries longs to see churches where people of all abilities worship, experience community, use their gifts, and deepen their relationship with the Lord.
Change is happening across the country! Our team hears from churches often about their progress and movement toward creating inclusive spaces, individuals experiencing disability professing their faith, children worshipping and learning alongside their peers for the first time, and adults with disabilities using their gifts to lead and serve in their local congregation. The list could go on and on! We are delighted to come alongside these churches to equip and support their leadership teams as they create belonging for people with disabilities.
We have big dreams for 2025 and believe God has set the stage for significant growth and impact this year. The more we learn from pastors, understand the perspectives of parents and needs of ministry leaders, conduct national research studies, and discern God’s direction for With Ministries, we are confident we will propel churches toward with-ness across the country.
Pray for us as we boldly step into this new year and champion belonging for people of all abilities in their local congregation. We cannot do this without our community of cheerleaders, champions, donors, and advocates alongside us. Your support means the world to us! Thank you for being with us!

Learning with Pastors
Conversations about Disability, Worship, and Creating Inclusive Congregations
With Ministries hosted 6 Lunch and Listens this fall with the sole intent of sitting with and listening to head pastors. As we equip church leaders with current research and inclusive best practices, we truly want to understand their position, hear their experiences, and learn how we can partner with them to create belonging for individuals and families experiencing disability. These lunches proved to be a great starting point for conversations about reimagining worship and congregational practices that support “with-ness” in their specific community. We left these conversations encouraged, inspired, and eager to continue this profoundly important work.

The Numbers

What we have learned
What we are doing about it
Many pastors have little exposure to disability in their educational and professional development experiences.
We are creating resources, online content, and in-person opportunities to equip pastors.
Pastors want clear, practical steps to make progress toward disability inclusion.
We are developing a framework for churches to utilize in implementing practical changes.
Many pastors equate disability ministry as something to provide in tandem with children’s ministry.
We are continuing to provide resources that cast vision for individuals with disabilities to be present and participating across all ministries, age groups, and life stages.
Congregants are likely the ones who will inspire and invite the pastors into learning about ministry opportunities.
We are providing monthly coaching calls for our Access subscribers as well as quarterly webinars for the wider With Ministries community.
Pastors want to hear from pastors who have prioritized inclusion and seen their church flourish.
We are filming and capturing testimonials from multiple pastors to dispel fear and encourage change.
Many pastors have never had intentional conversations surrounding disability inclusion and accessible worship with their peers or staff.
We continue to create research-based resources to facilitate conversations focused on congregational belonging as well as training opportunities.

“I am sitting here grieving. I need to sit in this feeling for a minute. I am saddened that I have been pastoring for three decades and never had this conversation. I never learned about this in seminary. I want to go back and determine how we can start shifting our congregational culture to be one where all people are welcomed and encouraged to worship and grow. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. We will do better.”
